The mission of girls who write
is to reclaim the power of the collective female voice
one word, one woman, one writer at a time.

Writer workdays
Once a month we have an informal meetup at a coffee shop or restaurant. The table is typically spread with laptops, lattes, notebooks, pens and pastries. We talk about our ideas and projects, we ask for and offer advice, we encourage each other and we laugh. Spending time in community with other Girls Who Write always has a way of filling our cups. We leave feeling seen, supported, refueled and ready to chase our writing dreams.
Writing challenges & Sharing circles
Once a quarter we have a writing challenge in the areas of poetry, nonfiction/memoir & short fiction. These challenges culminate in a sharing circle where everyone has a chance to read their work and be both witnessed and celebrated. These special nights are some of our members favorite times.
We also offer online challenges with writing prompts and sharing opportunities within our private group.
online community
We offer a private facebook group where woman can share their work, ask for feedback or advice, participate in challenges, see what other writers are working on and make connections with fellow Girls Who Write.

Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Nicole B Roberts, the founder of Girls Who Write.
I am an award-winning artist and author who geeks out on symbolism and extracting the meaning from ordinary life.
I have indie published two affirmation coloring journals (Catalyst Ranch & Catalyst Gardens), two children’s books (Figaro The Sock Fox & Dreamer) and one art and poetry book (Whispers of Womb & Wilderness), which won an International Impact Award for female empowerment.
In November of 2023 I invited 4 friends and fellow word nerds to my house to talk about our shared love of writing and how we could support each other in our writing journey. We all knew this was something special from that first meeting. The word spread quickly that if you were a girl who loved to write there was always room at our table. Our little group grew in ways that I never expected— it turns out a lot of women were aching for this very community!
I believe the time has come for women to boldly share their hearts. It is my personal goal to relentlessly encourage every woman to tell her story, even if her voice shakes.
I’m so glad you are here and I can’t wait to meet you!
